Global Social Responsibility initiatives 3rd edition 2012
The Brewing Sector worldwide has a long term commitment to working in partnership to encourage the legal and responsible consumption of its products. Brewers play a leading role in, and commit significant financial investment to all the initiatives described in this document, either individually as brewers, by subscribing to trade associations and their confederations or by funding Social Aspects Organisations and their international affiliations. More than 890 initiatives from 78 different countries are described. The number and range of the initiatives listed reflect the cultural and legal differences in the respective countries and show the need to tailor activity to local needs. Members of the WBA and brewers around the world take very seriously their commitments to encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol. This commitment to social responsibility is evidenced in the public, searchable database of our members’ Global Social Responsibility Initiatives, which was launched in June 2012, and is available online. The site builds on the two previous print versions, and demonstrates how the brewing sector has continued its commitment to help prevent and reduce the harmful consumption of alcohol.
Report on Environment and Utilities Sustainability
The worldwide brewing sector demonstrates its commitment to preserving and protecting the environment each day through a variety of initiatives. Brewers have a long history of implementing sustainable practices in all aspects of their business and continue to be at the forefront in this arena. Members of the brewing sector share a dedication to improving the environment through conserving energy and water, efficiently consuming raw materials, using products from the brewing process, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, establishing comprehensive recycling programmes, and supporting conservation organizations. While the specific efforts in this regard vary from brewer to brewer and country to country, the brewing sector has asserted itself as a leading environmental steward around the world. This report on Brewing Sector Initiatives in Environmental Sustainability gives examples of many of these inititives.
2008 Drinking and Driving Report 8th Edition - Recent Trends and Programmes
The Brewing Sector worldwide is committed to helping to combat driving under the influence of alcohol drinks and is proud of the part that it has played in increasing public awareness through its many initiatives and campaigns and in decreasing drink-drive fatalities and injuries. This report includes information from 53 countries on the legislation, trends in statistics and brewing sector initiatives and campaigns aimed at reducing drink-driving. The number of these initiatives, shown in this report, increases each year. Many are undertaken in partnership with the government or local road safety organisations, and this helps to strengthen the message. Additional information about these campaigns can be found in the third edition of “Global Social Responsibility Initiatives” another publication of the WBA or on the Global Social Responsibility Initiatives website.
